Medos Hotel

The location was great, with trams, buses, and the metro just three minutes away. Staff were nice and breakfast had lots of choices. We had the panorama suite on the 10th floor, which was huge, and the terrace was large too, though it was too cold for us to use it. The room heating was far too much. We asked staff to switch it off because there was no way to do it ourselves, and the air conditioning didn’t seem to work. I ended up sleeping with the window slightly open.

The service was good and the price reasonable. The room felt cozy, the bed was comfortable, and having a hot tub at the end of each day was lovely. The hotel is well placed, near public transport and the city center. Highly recommended.

They even prepared four breakfast boxes for us when we had an early flight, with sandwiches, an apple, juice, water, and something sweet. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent, with plenty of choices, and its position is perfect: from Oktogon you can catch the metro, bus, or tram. We were travelling with kids, so the staff let us into our room before check-in. The receptionist spoke our language as well as several others. This isn’t a super-luxury hotel, but it’s warm, cozy, friendly, and clean, with the best staff. All the best to the team at Medos Hotel. We’ll stay here again next time we’re in Budapest.

There are plenty of transport links nearby, and the main tourist sights are a 20-30 minute walk if you’d rather go on foot. Breakfast had a lovely selection each morning, and the room was good value. I’ve stayed here twice, fifteen years apart. The communist feel I liked on my first visit has been replaced by a modern hotel, which is perfectly fine too.
