Mercure Budapest Korona Hotel

The room was well equipped, clean, and comfortable, so I had a relaxing stay. Breakfast was excellent too, with plenty of fresh, tasty choices to start each day. I spent two days at this Budapest hotel and enjoyed it very much. Everything was well organized from the moment I arrived, and the staff were professional, friendly, and helpful. I’d gladly recommend staying here.

The food and location were amazing, but Milan’s service is what I’ll remember most. His upbeat attitude and willingness to go the extra mile made sure I felt comfortable and well looked after. This five-star rating is for Milan as much as the business. 10/10 for both service and food.

The location is easily the best part of this hotel. At €100 a night for a four-star place, though, I expected more reliable comfort and service. My check-in felt rushed and unwelcoming because the staff member was stiff and moved through it so quickly. The room was small, especially the bathroom, and the lighting was awkward. I was surprised there was no steam iron in the room, which I’d expect at this level. Breakfast had its good and bad points. I appreciated the barista making high-quality coffee, but the queue was constant, and the machine coffee was undrinkable. Food was often picked over without being replenished, and the scrambled eggs were dry. If location is all you care about, it’s a great spot, but for the price the stay felt a bit neglected.

We stay here as cabin crew and are always greeted with real warmth. The staff never make extra requests feel like too much. This morning at Privilege breakfast, our waiters Bence and Milán were especially helpful. They’re compassionate when unexpected situations come up, as they often do in our jobs. It’s a delight to stay here.
