The rooms were fresh, modern, and well cared for, and breakfast had an enjoyable range of choices. The price felt fair for what you get, and I’d definitely return. It was easy to check in, and the hotel sits right in the middle of everything. Famous cafés are only a block away, public transport is close for exploring farther, and small local pubs where residents hang out are within a block or two. I felt safe walking around at night.

The room was spacious and quiet even though it was near the main road, and the hotel is conveniently close to a tram station. Housekeeping was the weak point for a four-star hotel. If you don’t request cleaning, the room isn’t cleaned at all, and requests are often ignored. When I raised this, the night team tended to blame the guest before checking what happened. The morning staff handled it more professionally, so there seemed to be a difference in approach or training between shifts.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with good variety and quality. The restaurant manager, whose name I didn’t catch, was very hands-on and clearly keeps standards high. That kind of involvement is rare and made a noticeable difference. I hope management recognises his work. The hotel is very central and easy to get around from. Check-in was mostly smooth, and we appreciated being allowed in early, but only after we brought up our Accor Gold status. It would’ve been better if staff had checked our booking and membership details first instead of defaulting to the standard 3pm check-in. Housekeeping wasn’t consistent. Coffee and tea weren’t replenished every day, and the bottled water varied, sometimes two sparkling bottles instead of one still and one sparkling. The carpet wasn’t vacuumed despite our request, and on some days the beds weren’t made properly, which affected how clean the room felt. I also ran into repeated problems with the hotel’s digital services. My Singapore mobile number was entered in the correct format, but I couldn’t use the online self-service function. The same error came up when I tried to send the post-stay survey, which was disappointing because I wanted to give this feedback directly to the hotel. The location and breakfast are strong points, and the hotel has good fundamentals. Service could be more consistent across housekeeping, the front desk, and digital touchpoints. I hope management finds this useful as it works to improve the guest experience.
