The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the hostel was just great in general. The staff were super friendly and gave us great tips for making the most of our time in Budapest. The stairs are tough with heavy bags, but everything else was so good it made up for them. We had a great experience. 👍👍👍

We just got back from our break in beautiful Budapest, and I’m so glad we stayed at the Penthouse Private Hostel. The location is brilliant, and it really feels like home. We felt comfortable as soon as we came through the door, after tackling all those stairs, lol! Kristen & Brownie were so friendly and helpful. Everything was clean, and they kindly gave us a bottle of champers on NYE. Thanks for an amazing stay, girls. I’d recommend this hostel to anyone. Take care xx

The restaurant, bank, and supermarket are right nearby, and the place felt like a calm break from the busy city. Skye, Brownie & Naomi were so welcoming. They were easy to ask for help, gave great recommendations, and booked and arranged whatever I needed to plan each day. Just be ready for lots of stairs, so pack light. Highly recommend :D

It's clean, well located, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They leave bread, milk, and eggs so you can make your own breakfast. Getting up those 133 steps is a pain, though, and there isn't always anyone around. At 8am, when you're trying to sleep, the phone in the living room, which serves as reception, can ring nonstop.

I had a private balcony on the top floor, and the bathroom was clean. The place has a calmer feel than a typical hostel, with a sister party hostel just around the corner if you want that scene. I came by myself and the welcoming staff invited me out every night. Best hostel stay I've ever had.
