The price didn’t feel especially low for this kind of stay, and unless you really need this location, I’d pay a few ten EUR more for somewhere more comfortable in Budapest, even if it’s outside the center. The flat felt like a run-down former hostel in an old building. It seemed unmanaged, and cleaning had clearly been neglected. It was dirty and dusty, and there was no sense of hospitality or concern when problems came up. The host wouldn’t negotiate payment separately despite the “family run” guesthouse description. There was a kitchen, but no proper basic utensils: a blunt knife, a moldy cutting board, and no kettle. There was no lighter for the stove either. We asked, but the host and cleaner ignored us and refused to provide one. No one seemed willing to come help. The carbon monoxide detector blared for hours and wouldn’t stop with the button. There was also no toilet paper when we checked in.

We’ll remember this lovely home after our four days in Budapest. It was well equipped and gave us a good night’s sleep above the rooftops. The central location was convenient for excursions, too. Thank you for hosting us, and goodbye.

I’d avoid booking this place. The building is in poor condition, and the owner lives elsewhere. After arriving in the city, you have to go collect the key, and the owner won’t meet you before 3 pm, so you’re left to manage on your own until then. Budapest is very cheap, so you can find better accommodation at a low price. I’d suggest choosing somewhere better, even if it costs a bit more. This stay was a waste of money and time.

The location is great, and the person in charge was really kind and helpful. The rooms, though, are seriously tiny. You also have to collect the key somewhere else first, and I think the price could be a little lower.

It’s very comfortable for the price and in a great location. I took off a star because check-in means collecting the key at another place, and late arrival comes with an extra fee.
