The stairs are worth keeping in mind: this place is on the building's first floor, up three flights, with no lift. The mezzanine steps could be tricky for people with mobility difficulties or small children. Otherwise, it's a bright, modern, clean and quiet place to stay, right at the edge of the Jewish Quarter. Several of Budapest's main sights are within walking distance. Deak Ferenc Tér, a major transport hub and the airport shuttle's final stop, is about a six-minute walk away; buses, trains and trams from there connect to the rest of the city. You'll also find loads of restaurants, cafes, bars, takeaways, shops and convenience stores within about ten minutes, with everything you might need for a city break.

The apartment was spotless and secure, with everything we could need, including a washing machine, iron and ironing board, free WiFi and slippers. They kept in touch throughout, from booking right through to departure, and I can't praise them enough. The 100E public bus from the airport costs €3 and takes you to the central Budapest terminus. They met us there and walked with us about 200 yards to the apartment block.
