We never actually stayed at the hotel, so I can’t speak to the accommodation. I can speak to how unprofessional and unfriendly to customers the staff were. I paid in full for three rooms for six guests for one December night through Booking.com, for a company team-building event. Illness in the team meant we had to cancel. I understood the cancellation policy and wasn’t asking for a refund, just a change of date. We contacted the hotel in several ways, including messages and phone calls, more than 48 hours ahead, and also asked Booking.com support to help. Booking.com officially reached out to the hotel repeatedly and asked for a reply. The hotel ignored both us and Booking.com, despite supposedly having 24 hours to respond, then marked us as no-shows, which effectively blocked any further resolution. They have never contacted us since. They didn’t have to grant the date change, but they did need to respond. This felt like deliberate avoidance and a complete lack of professionalism. Think twice about supporting this business.

We stayed in the presidential suite and it was insane. The hotel is in a good spot, with nice bars and restaurants nearby and a bus stop at the end of the street. The staff were easy to deal with and very helpful. We arrived early and left our bags, then got WhatsApp updates and a message that our room was ready a couple of hours ahead of time. Nr 26 is a nice place for breakfast, though lots of people seemed to come mainly for Instagram pictures. Hotel guests can show their room key to get a preferred seat. I’d highly recommend any room here.

Stories is a lovely independent hotel, right in the Pest part of the city and well placed for walking around and sightseeing. Our room was large and comfortable, and the restaurant was gorgeous with great food. We also got a free cocktail, or two, when we arrived and chocolates when we left. The room had been upgraded before we got there to a Queen Deluxe overlooking the beautiful courtyard restaurant, 26°, two floors below. We were warned about possible diner noise, but nothing disturbed us. The Concierge/Reception team were wonderful and went out of their way with sightseeing and dining tips. Special thanks to Ganang and Haya. Highly recommended.

The only thing that bothered us was the windows, which only open a little and let in very little air. Apart from that, the stay was perfect. The rooms felt new and were spotless, and the soundproofing was so good we could barely hear the restaurant, even when it got loud. There are countless restaurants nearby, and the main attractions are about a 15-minute walk away. The design is beautiful, a modern take on classic style, with an incredible urban jungle feel. The highly rated restaurant inside keeps the place lively. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in.
