The apartment itself was in poor shape: peeling paint, leaking air conditioning, hairs and crumbs on the sofa, and filthy kitchen worktops. At least the bedding was clean and fresh. We arrived at 12:30 am for a three-night stay and were told there’d been a mistake and no room was available, despite an email saying they looked forward to greeting us. SWU Opera sent us to another hotel, where we paid €200 for a night and stayed only seven hours. Staff said they’d refund it, and we were promised payment within 24 to 48 hours when we left. After repeated requests, we couldn’t reach the manager, who the receptionist said was never at the property. More than a month later we were still chasing the refund, with Booking.com trying to resolve it. We’d never stay here again and advise others to avoid it. Budapest has far better places to stay.

The apartment was grimy and smelled of mold. Now all our clothes have that smell too.

I was told before booking that getting an invoice would be no problem, but I never received one. At check-in and checkout they said Booking.com would issue it, then after Booking.com stepped in, the invoice they sent was incorrect. I couldn’t settle the bill and lost a significant part of my money. My messages went unanswered, and when I asked for the manager or accounting to sort it out, I was brushed off and the receptionist hung up on me. They’d assured me of everything I asked for as long as I booked and paid right away. This place and its service felt shady, wasn’t worth the price, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The price for what you get is very good, and the location is great. The gym and wellness facilities were simply perfect.
