TG Hotel Apartments Budapest

Several groups of teenagers staying nearby seemed to be on party trips. They played loud music and shouted, especially at night. We spoke to staff to ask if they could deal with it or move us, since our courtyard-facing windows weren’t insulated and gave us no privacy. The AC didn’t work either, so keeping the window open was the only way to make the room bearable, but the noise made sleep impossible. When the groups returned late for after-parties, they woke us all up. Staff only said it would stop and did nothing more, and the hotel allowing this atmosphere was completely unacceptable. Hotels.com thankfully helped us get a refund, and we’re leaving as soon as possible. This was one of my worst “hotel” experiences. It didn’t really feel like a hotel, more like small apartments in a residential complex, which was misleading from the start. Avoid this place at all costs.

Room 203 was spacious and had a microwave, toaster and washing machine. The internet was very unreliable, disconnecting often and sometimes for a long time. I can’t say if other areas were the same, but rooms 201-204 share that connection. It may be fine if you don’t use your device much, but I wouldn’t recommend those rooms if you need to work.

Reception staff were extremely kind and helpful. We had a wonderful family stay, and the apartment was clean with everything we could need. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the location made it easy to explore Budapest without public transport. With our two children, we were very satisfied and would definitely choose this place again if we return.

The location is simply the best you can get in Budapest, and the apartment turned out to be a comfortable, convenient surprise. There are some details to improve. The shower areas need shelves, since bending to pick toiletries up from the floor is hard, especially for older guests. In the additional bathroom, a glass partition and a higher shower support would make it a proper second bathroom for groups of more than two. The automatic light switches are too bright at night. I’d also feel more secure with an internal manual lock and hotel-style security locks on the main door. There’s no security or concierge in the building, and adding these features would help guests, especially women, feel safer. The bathroom marble needs better cleaning too. Product stains running down the walls gave a bad impression even though I knew the surfaces were clean. The marble should be glowing!
