Treestyle Hostel

The beds were uncomfortable, and the old bedding was covered in lint. The floor creaks and squeaks, and it’s worn out. There’s nowhere to set your suitcase, and the drawer doesn’t have a place to put your lock. I was afraid to touch the windows in case they broke. The description mentions king-size beds, but there simply aren’t any. This hostel is awful. Only stay here if every other hostel is full.

We were meant to stay three nights, but left after just one. The bathroom had only warm water, with disgusting stains and even boogers on the wall, and the trash hadn’t been emptied before we arrived. The sheets were full of hair and clearly reused. They brought us “clean” replacements, but those were dirty too, and my friend’s mattress was wet with sweat. There were no working blinds, just open windows with the city lights shining in all night. Don’t stay here.

The shared bathrooms served at least 40 people, so finding one free to use or shower in was nearly impossible. After showering, seeing cameras in the hallway felt invasive and inappropriate, especially with nowhere secure to leave our belongings. We booked three nights but left after the first. On arrival, the whole place smelled terrible. Our room had broken blinds that wouldn’t lower, damp sheets with hair on them, trash that hadn’t been removed, damaged pillow stuffing, and a door frame in poor condition. This was easily the worst lodging experience I’ve had. I absolutely don’t recommend it.

Right in the center, but on a lively street full of bars, clubs, and nightlife, so there was music and drunk people outside all night. We stayed at the Treestyle for one night after booking the “Deluxe room” at the last minute, literally 11pm, for €41 with some kind of discount. That already felt expensive for what we got, especially since the original price was €75. For me, the value didn’t match, and I think it should cost €30-35 max. The room was fairly clean and spacious, and the air conditioner was a nice surprise. The receptionist seemed very nice too. I didn’t feel much privacy or safety because the doors seemed like basic interior doors from a Budapest apartment. The bathroom towels weren’t the newest or freshest. It’s okay for an urgent one-night stay, but I wouldn’t choose it for longer.
