Verdi Budapest Aquincum

Booked at the last minute to explore a new city and get lots of running in. The pool, spa, and gym felt really luxurious, and the whole stay was a great experience. The restaurants were good, breakfast was great, and the room was perfect, with a lovely bed and several kinds of pillows.

The downstairs pool area wasn’t too busy, the water was pleasantly warm, and the sauna was relaxing. It’s also easy to get into town, just two tram stops before connecting to the M3. The hotel and pools were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was plentiful. Best of all, the staff were so sweet and helpful that they made our stay amazing. I’ve visited Budapest many times, and this is definitely one of the best places I’ve stayed. I’ll be back!

The transport connections were great, with the bus stop, tram, and H5 train all less than a five-minute walk away. Breakfast had loads of fresh, tasty choices. We also used the facilities every day, a lovely way to relax and warm up after walking around Budapest in the January snow at -5. There are two warm pools for sitting or floating, one swimming pool where you may need a swim cap, and a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was beautifully toasty on one day, but sadly not warm enough the rest of the time. We booked through Expedia and had a perfect stay. Our room had a separate lounge, a huge bed, and a massive bathroom with both a bath and a shower. It was super comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We’d stay here again, 10/10.

The location suited us well. It’s in a quieter stretch of Budapest by the Danube, but the nearby tram and other public transport made the city centre easy to reach. We liked having somewhere peaceful to return to after busy tourist areas. The service was excellent from arrival through departure, with every staff member we met friendly, professional, and welcoming. We felt well looked after. The spa was a real highlight. After long days sightseeing, using the clean, relaxing thermal pools was a great way to unwind. Breakfast also beat our expectations: lots of pastries, fruit, hot dishes, and coffee, and enough variety to find something different every morning over several days. Our room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and quiet, with everything well maintained. It was a nice place to rest after walking around Budapest. The Aquincum Hotel offered good value, and we had a wonderful stay. We’d happily come back and recommend it to other people visiting the city.
