This cozy guesthouse has a regularly maintained garden, and the owner makes good food. I became a fan of Hungarian food straight away! There are good walking routes nearby, and it’s only a few meters from the park, lake, hospital, stores, walking street, and some well-known Keszthely tourist spots.

This was our second stay at the Illes guesthouse, this time with three people; back in 2022, I came as a couple. Gede Laszlo recognized me straight away and set us up with two rooms. He even arranged breakfast for Sunday morning. The rooms and bathrooms are lovely and well kept, the prices are fair, and the landlord is really friendly. Highly recommend.

The air conditioning was a lifesaver in 40-degree heat, and the room was clean with useful basics like bedside tables. The owner was wonderfully kind and helpful, and happy to chat. The building has a lot of character, with a lovely garden, gazebo, and terrace. It’s also well placed, near both the city center and Lake Balaton. Definitely worth recommending. The place is in a great spot close to the center and Lake Balaton. There’s a beautiful garden, gazebo, and terrace around the atmospheric building. Our clean room had bedside tables and, especially welcome in the 40-degree heat, air conditioning. The owner was very friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to.

The 9.3 rating makes sense to me, even though I’m still in town. It’s a peaceful guesthouse with a lovely garden, and you can walk to the city beach or the pedestrian zone and center. The owner is friendly and speaks German and English well. I’d happily book here again.

We were just passing through and spent one night here. The owner was very welcoming and looked after us well. It’s also a short way to the center and Lake Balaton. A lovely house with a beautiful garden, and I’d recommend it.
