It's a special, peaceful place in the middle of nature, and I can't wait to return. The family who run it are so welcoming and friendly. The food is unbelievably tasty, with Hungarian classics, some modern touches and quality ingredients. Their homemade wine and pálinka are amazing too.

The peaceful surroundings and nature are why I like returning once or twice a year. The rooms are nice, the restaurant is good, and the welcome is warm and relaxing. Drinks are a basic selection. Try the local wine!

The old building has impressive decor, and the service was friendly and helpful in English. I had stuffed baked chicken, then good coffee, with non-dairy options available. The forest mushroom soup is excellent, and there's a broad choice of meats, including water buffalo, pork and chicken. They offer a similarly wide range of their own wines. I can only speak for the Torani white I tried, which was excellent. One driving note: coming from the southwest instead of straight from Györ, your GPS may send you down a very narrow cobblestone road. It's driveable, with occasional places to pull over.

The owners are wonderful, and they make their own wines in several styles in the Pannonia wine region. There are many historic places nearby, including Pannonhalma Archabey monastery, Gyor old city, Castle Szigliget, Csesznek Castle, Tihany Abbey and Balatonfüred. So many undiscovered wonders of history and architecture!
