Fine for a single night, but the price doesn't really fit the standard. The place feels like it's from the early 1980s, and the towels should have been replaced ages ago. You also have to collect the keys somewhere completely different.

We've stayed here more than once and keep coming back. It's a cozy farmhouse in a quiet street and neighborhood, not too far from the Bodrog river. Our host is a fair, really nice guy, and the room costs less if you book directly with them instead of through Booking. The only small hassle is picking up the keys about 3 minutes away by car. Hercegkút is nearby, there's plenty to see in Sárospatak, the spa is fairly close, and Sátoraljaújhely isn't far either. The hosts can arrange a boat trip too. I highly recommend the place!

We stayed there in 2022 and had rooms 1 and 3, in a building with three separate apartment entrances. Martens in the attic above the last room made a terrible racket at night. I can't say whether they sprayed something for moths or other insects before we arrived, but after four days we were all coughing and short of breath. If you can't find anywhere else, maybe try it for one night.

I wish I'd checked the reviews before booking. There was no room available where I'd booked, so they offered another room-like place in the city. I turned it down because I didn't want an airless attic. They promised I'd get the room I'd booked and had confirmation for the following night, but said I had to spend that night in one of the city's houses. As it was already evening, I didn't have much choice. Instead, they put me in a room made from a garage, with a disgusting exterior. This place is filthy. Why hasn't its permit been revoked? Horrible, best avoided!
