Balaton Colors Beach Hotel

I arrived late, around 2300, and the staff were professional with everything ready for me. Breakfast was great, and the hotel is easy to find, right by the lake and close to shops. There’s street parking available. The only issue was the shower water, which got warm but not hot enough. It might have been a timer issue.

We found the hotel easily, and parking was no problem, at least in October. Check-in took just a few minutes, and the receptionist greeted us politely. The room had enough space for three, with a double bed and TV in the main area and a single bed in a smaller room. The cleanliness was really disappointing. There were dead spiders on the curtains, cobwebs on the walls, and dust all over the balcony. The room wasn’t cleaned at all during our three-night stay. On the last day, while we were packing, a spider even crawled over the bed. Breakfast was included, with a good selection of sweet pastries, cakes, hot dishes, and cold cuts. But the breakfast room was poorly kept too, with cobwebs and dirty windows throughout.

We slept well, despite the noisy fridge. The room was really nice, with a lovely bathroom and balcony, and we enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. I wish we’d been warned about the hundreds of midges that come in at night if you leave the windows open. Still, we enjoyed our stay.

The free spa and recreation hall were a nice bonus, and the included breakfast was excellent. A very pleasant, friendly hotel with a relaxed atmosphere.
