Jókai Villa

The location is great and the rooms are nice, though a bit dated. Our towels weren't changed until after 3 days, and the shower glass was dirty. Breakfast was identical each day, and the prices felt too high for the service provided.

We left a day early because we couldn't take it any longer. The room was freezing since the heating didn't work, and the flimsy windows let in drafts and so much noise it felt like sleeping in a tent. The railway tracks are right beside the hotel, so it was extremely loud. The promised champagne bottle was missing, and the shower head was broken. The gift voucher was another mess. We had to contact the hotel 4 times before getting a reply, and when we arrived they still didn't understand what we wanted. The so-called wellness area is in another part of the city. For our included buffet dinner, we were sent to a small Italian restaurant somewhere in town. The waiter didn't say a word, sat us down, and brought noodles without asking what we wanted or whether we'd like a drink. The food was very salty and there was hardly any of it. I've had better breakfasts in youth hostels. This was a complete waste of money. You can get much better elsewhere for this price.

There's a lot of unused potential in this old place. They advertise free parking, then charge you when you arrive. Some of the towels weren't clean, and one curtain was missing. Breakfast was okay, and the air conditioning worked.

The rooms are huge and felt fresh and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There's a nice breakfast, good coffee, parking, and air conditioning in the superior rooms only. The building and its surroundings are beautiful, with a secluded garden, and it's close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The wifi was weak in our second-floor rooms, 8 and 12. Trains go by at night and can be noisy, though it didn't bother me. The soap and shampoo came from dispensers and felt a bit cheap.
