Piknik Wellness Hotel

The staff were friendly, but slow and disorganized. The pool area was small, and the spa didn't feel like a wellness area at all. In the room, cleaning had been rushed, and a bad smell seemed to have been covered up with a lot of cleaning chemicals, which could be a problem for people with allergies. For a cheap, shabby hotel at around 30 euros, it might have been what I expected. But the room was nearly 100 euros, so the value for money just wasn't there.

Breakfast was superb, and the staff were genuinely human and welcoming, something I rarely see these days, even in many premium hotels. There’s plenty of free parking, and it’s easy to reach the highway, the center of Siofok, and the Balaton beaches. I was there for my daughter’s dancing competition and went along with the group. I spend more than 80 days a year in hotels around Europe, and being a Radisson Gold Member doesn’t stop me from trying somewhere different. Piknik Wellness Hotel delivers what it promises for three stars. The wellness area is small but cozy, and the garden pool is enough to cool off on a hot summer day. The rooms have a vintage style, and some details feel frozen in time. If you don’t need on-demand TV, an overpriced minibar, or fancy bathroom amenities, you won’t be disappointed.

The rooms were dirty, and there wasn't any toilet paper. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

The tennis court at the back of the garden is a joke, though it’s worth walking back to have a look. In the room, it was hot, and opening the window wasn't an option. The curtains didn't block the light, so sleeping after 5 a.m. was hard, and noise from the ground floor carried up.
