Beach 101 Villa

The setting ended up being exactly what we wanted, even though we knew almost nothing about Szabadisóstó before arriving. It’s a quieter base than Siofok, but only about nine minutes away by train if you need more than the basics. Shops, places to eat, and bike rental are all just a short walk from the apartments. We had one of the smaller studios, and it worked really well for us. There was a little kitchenette with a fridge and freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, two-burner stove, and the basics for cooking. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom felt luxurious, and there was plenty of room to let sunlight in or block it out completely. We also had air conditioning, a large TV, a small table, and a balcony facing the water. The lawn below is a nice place to sunbathe, with two sets of outdoor tables and chairs and grills available if you want to cook outside. The apartments are right on the lake, with their own dock. That felt like a real bonus in an area where access to the water usually costs money. We loved the view and all the lovely sunsets. Check-in is arranged with the hosts, so remember to save their number and agree on a time. It’s an apartment building, not a hotel, so there’s no reception, room service, or someone on call all the time. There’s a secure gate and parking inside if you need it. The hosts were friendly and happy to help when we called, even though their English wasn’t fluent. We stayed eight nights after leaving Budapest, and honestly that wasn’t long enough. It’s only about an hour and a half away by train, so we’re hoping to escape there often from now on. This place was perfect for us, and we’ll be back.
