2/10
We had a broken bed, a dirty towel, and floors that clearly hadn’t been vacuumed. Our stay also overlapped with a large group occupying most of the rooms, and the noise was so bad we couldn’t sleep until 3 a.m. The owners don’t seem to live in the house, and there don’t appear to be rules about late-night parties. Sound carries badly: you hear every little thing, from doors slamming to showers upstairs. Maybe it would work for a large group renting the entire place, but it was awful for us.

Good value, a nice staff, and a very convenient location. The owner knows the area incredibly well and has good winery connections. Highly recommended.

The host was helpful and nice, and the cellar row is close by. The guesthouse could use renovation, though. It felt a bit run down and not especially clean, with dirty glasses and mold on the wall. Breakfast was okay for this category. The pool and jacuzzi didn’t appeal much.

8/10
The host knows how to look after guests, and the food is first class. The accommodation is fine for a night or two. At night there are no outdoor lights, the beds are a bit spread out, and though I didn’t watch much TV, the picture looked grainy.

A comfortable, spacious house that’s clean and well equipped, with kind and helpful hosts who are a credit to Villány.
