BiZ@ Hotel

The main drawback was the cramped room. Still, for 350K a night with breakfast, Biz Hotel is good value for a brief visit, especially if being central and near the port matters. I picked it for an overnight stay in Ambon because it is in the center and within walking distance of the ferry port. That was a smart choice when one of the big Pelni ferries came in, as traffic around the harbor quickly became jammed. By local standards the hotel felt modern and clean. The AC and Wi-Fi worked well, and the bathroom was better than I expected.

There’s a cafe/resto in the hotel, and the prices there are very affordable. The location is central, though parking takes some effort and outside noise can carry into the room. For the price, the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom decent. Breakfast was okay, with decent Indonesian dishes. Compared with other hotels in the same price bracket, this felt like better value.

Breakfast was good, with Indonesian food as well as toast, bread, pancakes, fresh fruit and more. The clean room, number 619, was nice, though I noticed it could be opened without a sensor card. Really good value for money. By the way, there’s a small toko called Welly across from the hotel where you can buy drinks, like the green bottle or the red and white can with a star on it.

The hallway lighting was a little dim, but I had a very pleasant three-day, two-night stay. The hotel is right in the city center, with cafes and restaurants all around. My room was clean and comfortable, though not especially big, and the staff were polite and helpful.
