Villa Chandra gave us the quiet, scenic side of Bali we'd hoped to find. After spending two weeks in the island's most recommended areas, we finally felt we'd found original Bali. The east has peaceful nature, and the villa makes a great hideaway near jungle, rice fields, and the sea. From the open first floor, the view is breathtaking. Watching the sea beyond the rice fields from bed is unforgettable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, with plenty of local tips and insights into the culture. We had a great stay. If the overpriced, overhyped crowds have worn you out too, book Villa Chandra right away! :)

Petra and Mark made us feel welcome and helped us understand the culture and choose places to visit. Our stay at Villa Chandra was lovely, and the experience was unique and better than we expected for the price. The east coast feels unspoiled, like the “real” Bali, and the staff at both villas were friendly and eager to help. Breakfast is provided, with lunch and dinner available on request, and the food is delicious. There are local cafes and warungs nearby, though they're too far to walk to, so you'll need transport. The area is pretty and the pool is very inviting in the heat. Thanks for a wonderful experience of the Bali that many people miss by staying in the south.

A peaceful, quiet setting with lovely scenery. It's a great base for exploring east Bali. The swimming pool is really large, and the friendly staff help you with everything.
