Anom Beach Hotel

The bungalow was quiet, peaceful, and very romantic. You can hear the ocean all the time, but it isn’t loud, and the beach has almost white sand. The restaurant has a nice sea view, an amazing chef, and lovely food. Some facilities are a bit old, though clean, and I think that adds to the charm. There are plenty of other restaurants and local shops nearby. If you want a quiet, atmospheric Bali-style break with its own beach, this is a good fit. It’s also centrally placed for Bali sightseeing. I rented a car, but the receptionist is always ready to call a taxi. I recommend it for the price.

The hotel still offers reasonable value, but in my view it’s past its prime and seems to be declining. The breakfast included in the price was disappointing, with few choices and no written menu available. Service was slow, partly because there weren’t enough staff for the guests. All but one staff member seemed friendly, courteous, and helpful. It sits on a long, narrow plot. Sunloungers are above the beach, followed by the bar and restaurant, car park, reception, and an excellent pool. Bungalows line both sides of the garden path through Anom Beach Hotel.

We only stayed one night, but the hotel was beautiful. The pool and beach area were great for vacation photos to make friends back home envious. Our room was pretty much fine for what we paid, and dinner at the restaurant was quite an experience. The food was very expensive by Bali standards, though, and it was very dark sitting close to the beach.

The excellent beach was the one good thing about the location. We’re checking out early. The bed doesn’t have a proper mattress, the sheets smell mouldy, and the room isn’t clean enough. Some staff are good and some are terrible. We had to wait to order dinner because there weren’t enough menus for the guests. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in Bali. It’s not much cheaper than other places I’ve stayed, so the condition is hard to excuse. Another hotel near tanah lot costs about the same and gave me a five-star experience. I don’t know how this place gets away with it.
