Bali Sunset Hotel

At first glance the hotel looks fairly well maintained, but a closer look made it seem like the people there didn’t know how to care for what they have. Water pressure was very low and changed or surged when someone in another room used water. The hot water barely worked, the bedside lamps had no bulbs, and none of the remote controls had batteries. The pools were very cloudy, as if there were far too few chemicals, and one had green water with a bottom you couldn’t see. The owners have a nice property that could be first rate if they cared enough to do what it takes. Unfortunately, it seems that ship has sailed.

We booked and paid for a sea-view room for our wedding anniversary, but weren’t given the room we paid for. The room we got was dirty, full of roaches, and had broken taps. The Italian man working there was extremely rude, including to the other staff, and wouldn’t let us tip the good staff. It was a huge down point of our trip. He also told us he was working there illegally.

The owner/manager was extremely aggressive and rude from the start when we asked for a room. He didn’t understand much English. We’d arrived after a tiring drive and were really disappointed. His staff seemed used to seeing him misbehave, but still felt sorry for guests, and later apologized for his behavior. He had badly rotten teeth. He must be mentally ill or a drug addict. Do yourself a favor and skip this place, even if there aren’t other good hotels nearby.

We didn’t get the room we paid for, and the Italian gent working there ripped us off. When we raised our qaums, he basically stared at us for the rest of our stay, which was less than 12 hours. The staff were great, but their boss was something else. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone for any length of time.
