The staff were very sweet and flexible, and I was grateful for that. I stayed in early and late December 2025, when the place was almost empty, so I often had the room to myself. There’s a large construction site nearby during the day, which hopefully finishes soon. Nights are mostly quiet, though now and then a motorbike leaves the new parking area beside the hostel. There’s free water, tea, and coffee, plus use of the kitchen, fridge, and freezer. Laundry is available for 25k per kg. The place is cleaned daily and is clean, but the rooms are quite old and it’s not European hostel standard. If you’re used to regular guest houses, you might be shocked. Breakfast isn’t being offered at the moment. A female dorm bed costs 80k a night without breakfast. Using the kitchen helps if you’re on a tight budget. It’s an option if you really need to save, but if you can afford another 50k for a private room somewhere else, I’d do that.

The location is handy for the Monkey Forest, and I had a great weekend hike there. I found the place interesting, but I don’t want to return after having stayed in other places in Ubud before. I have mixed feelings about it. The interior and design are beautiful, and the positive reviews on the walls suggest it was once made with a lot of love. There are places to work and practice, the internet is good, and I appreciated that the owners were understanding about practices involving emotional processing. I was also lucky with my roommate, a very nice girl whose company I enjoyed. But the living conditions and organization were the worst of my month in Bali, even though it cost a bit more than the places I usually booked. On arrival they couldn’t find my reservation right away. When I came back from the city center the next day, I was told, “You missed the check-out time.” Drinking water came only after a reminder and a separate request. The hostesses first said it was delayed until 5 PM, but after a WhatsApp message that wasn’t seen right away, it arrived after 9 PM. I checked in on a Friday. The bar across the “road” was playing music so loudly that I could hear motorbikes going past the hostel nonstop, though the room itself was quiet. Inside, the interior is dated and the doors are hard to open. It is cleaned regularly and is clean. There was no hot water on the first day; when I mentioned it the next day, they said they hadn’t checked, and the water came back. They also fixed the broken toilet flushes.

At Keladi House in Ubud, it’s easy to meet people, and the staff are kind. The beds are comfortable, the AC is great, and breakfast and showers are good too. It’s relaxed and tucked away from Bali’s chaotic traffic, a good base while exploring the country. Totally recommend it.

I came back later in my trip because I’d had such a good stay the first time. The hostel has spacious, very clean rooms, working AC, and a good place to keep your belongings. Staff are really friendly, and the location is close to what you need. It sits back from the busy street by rice fields, so it’s very quiet. Highly recommended.

Ubud can get really busy, so I appreciated the relaxed atmosphere here. The staff are lovely, the living areas are clean, breakfast is good, and it’s super cheap. The location also makes it easy to get around. I’m looking forward to booking again.
