Losari Sunset Hotel

For a 20 m2 room, it's good value, and the location is very convenient, near Papaya supermarket as well as Japanese restaurants and coffee shops. The air conditioning wasn't working at first, but staff fixed it right away. The big problem was the hot water. I was told to wait, left the water running for an hour, and it still never got hot.

I stayed three nights with my family and we were very happy with it. The rooms were spacious and clean, and we liked the pool. Staff were really kind and knew lots of local hidden gems, haha. It's close to tourist spots like Kuta Beach and the Legian area. There are plenty of places to eat and convenience stores nearby, and the airport isn't far either. Traffic by the lights in front can make the street a little crowded, though that doesn't happen all the time. We'd definitely come back.

My first night started with a dirty room, no towels, and no complimentary water. The AC barely worked even set to 16°, which should normally be freezing. The pool was the best feature, but I couldn't really enjoy it because the surrounding area allowed smoking, which I hated. I could get a cleaner, better room in Kuta for less money. I'd booked three nights, but reception didn't even know about the booking, and my room wasn't cleaned. The staff need better training. The night security guard was sleeping in the reception area, which was ridiculous. It's listed as a 3 stars hotel, but I don't think it deserves that. The balcony window couldn't even be opened for fresh air. This was the first stay that really disappointed me. Indonesians are known for being friendly, but I didn't get that feeling from any of the workers.

Two of the worst nights I've had in a hotel. My room on level 5 was dirty when I arrived, with dusty floors and spider webs in the toilet. I asked staff to clean it again while I went to dinner, but it was still dirty afterward. The elevator lamps weren't working and it opened on every floor during the trip down. When I raised it with a staff member, who I think was the manager because he kept directing others, he acted as if I was crazy and kept saying, “I don’t understand.” I was speaking in Bahasa, which I can bet 100% was his first language. The staff were rude and unhelpful, and the elevator didn't work properly. There's also a dog inside the hotel that barks 24/7, so forget about a peaceful night. Worst hotel and service I've experienced. Please don't book this place.
