The standout for me was how the front desk helped when I had a sudden reaction to UV rays on our last night. My neck became red, swollen, hot, and itchy, and I wanted to wait until I got home to see a doctor. It was already past 10 pm, but a young front desk man with a round face, short hair, and round eyes called an emergency doctor for me. The first quoted 1000k, so he quickly found someone else who charged 30k, with medication extra. The doctor arrived in about ten minutes, gave me an emergency shot and ointment, and by nearly 1 am my symptoms were much better. I’m very grateful to the staff member who helped me. The hotel itself was generally nice, and breakfast was good. The lighting felt a little dim to me, though others might like the atmosphere. There’s a bar across the street that can be noisy, but my room was toward the back and I usually got back late, so it wasn’t a big issue for me. I highly recommend the hotel, and send many thanks to the front desk staff.

The maintenance staff and the trainee were both awesome, and the location is great. I especially wish the trainee the best. But the desk staff were extremely condescending when I asked for help, and the accommodation left me extremely disappointed. I told the trainee who witnessed the conversation to do things differently when he gets a position of power. The listing showed 2.700.000, then offered almost 80% off to attract guests. The discounted rate was still just above what I’d consider acceptable in high season. Diabolical pricing. As a former hotelier, I’m embarrassed by it. The “patio” was 30 inches of tile with two chairs, and the room felt deceptively small in person. The king bed felt much more like a Queen. The bathroom is outside, so use the toilet before sunset unless you want mosquitoes to get a free meal. Great location, but I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone I care about. Both desk staff need a different job.

I moved out after two nights and won’t stay here again. I booked through a travel app because of a huge discount, then quickly understood why it was discounted. The AC in my room leaked. Grab bikes refuse to come to this location, so you have to walk about 300m to the nearest pickup spot. And the “buffet breakfast” was a joke, with very few choices and none of the usual things like cheese, sausage, or ham/bacon that most hotels offer. On top of that, you’re limited to two eggs, which I found ridiculous. Save your time and money and avoid this place.

We’ve had such a lovely stay at Papilion Echobeach Hotel. The pool is a particularly peaceful spot to unwind after being out exploring, and the staff have been warm and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. It’s only a short walk to Echo Beach, but the hotel feels tucked away and calm. The design is modern and stylish without losing a cozy, comfortable feel. Our room has been bright, clean, and thoughtfully arranged, with everything we’ve needed. It’s been a great base for our time in Canggu and has made the trip feel even more special.
