Bobopod Dago, Bandung

There’s an outdoor area, which is a nice extra, and the property is otherwise fine like the others. But I’m comparing it with Jakarta, and the showers and toilets here could be cleaner. It wasn’t awful, though even after they’d been cleaned, there was still plenty of hair and other stuff on the floor. That really shouldn’t be there.

The common dining area was roomy enough and clean, and there’s also an outdoor space for smoking or vaping. I appreciated that there’s a place for sholat too. Staff were all kind. The pods were clean and the AC was cold enough. Men’s and women’s toilets and showers are separate, and those were very clean, with hot water and a hairdryer. Towels are provided, toothbrushes are available at reception, and the showers have soap and shampoo. I enjoyed my stay.

The deli was a nice extra: good coffee and toast that made a satisfying break. Staff were warm, friendly, and helpful with questions, which made the stay even better. The pods feel private and cozy, with good climate control for a comfortable night, and the pods and shared areas were kept very clean. Bobopod Dago has a modern, minimalist setup that would suit solo travelers, and its Dago location gives easy access to attractions. It was a much more enjoyable stay than I expected.

The main drawbacks were noise and the lack of early check-in. You can hear people talking and opening or closing doors, so I wouldn’t pick it for a calm, quiet stay. Still, it’s a good budget option if cleanliness matters: the facilities are clean and regularly sanitized. I did notice stains on what was supposed to be a new bedsheet, and hope that gets addressed. Aside from that, I’d recommend it while visiting Bandung.
