Cozy Art Deco Apartment

The security guards and bellboy were the only people who seemed useful. Reception offered no help, and there was no one there when we arrived or any information from the owner. We had paid for Bona by Kozystay and couldn't stay. Fortunately, we booked through booking.com and got our money back. The check-in setup was confusing and unprofessional, and even basic check-in wasn't properly available. Having some units run by the hotel and others by local operators leaves the place without consistent standards. The front desk staff showed little professionalism. This feels like a self-proclaimed four-star hotel, while other three-star or even two-star places offer better amenities and service. I’d tell people to avoid this property for their own safety. There seem to be more unhappy guests than satisfied ones. The online advertising was fake. Luckily this isn't the US, or I would have sued the property.

When I stayed in 2024, the cleanliness, service, and breakfast quality and selection were excellent, and the hotel really lived up to its five-star rating. My New Year 2025 visit was a very different experience. The place was not clean, breakfast had clearly declined in both quality and variety, and the staff performed poorly. I can't recommend the hotel at the moment.

There are plenty of restaurants and other places near Art Deco Luxury Hotel, and Nara Park is close enough to reach by shuttle bus. We stayed in the Grand Suite with our family, which had three bedrooms and enough room for seven people. It also came with a private pool, so we could swim whenever we wanted. The view was very good too, and the room made for a comfortable family holiday.

Our deluxe room booking was upgraded because that room type was fully booked. The staff were quick to respond as well. Thanks for the service.
