Betah Homestay Banyuwangi

The homestay felt homey and had all the basic things we needed. They even brought us a meal at night because we were heading to Ijen, and the service was very good. I had a good experience at Betah Homestay, though I'd suggest a water heater in each room and fixing the smell from the toilet.

The host and staff were kind and attentive, and breakfast was delicious. We had a very clean room surrounded by lush greenery, and although the shower was cold, that was fine. It was great value for a stay before heading back to Bali. I'd return and recommend it to friends when I'm in Banyuwangi.

The open kitchen and communal area are great, and the indoor garden is incredible. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was cozy and lovely. Breakfast comes with three choices: Indonesian, American, or French toast with fruit. Such a beautiful place. I'll definitely stay here again if I visit Banyuwangi.

They should clearly say if they're a syariah hotel. After driving all day, I arrived expecting to rest, but was told I couldn't stay because my partner and I weren't married. There were no empty rooms, and it was already late at night. Where were we supposed to go? They didn't even try to help find somewhere for us. My partner ended up sleeping in the car, thankfully we were in a car and not on a motorbike. I can't understand how they could let him stay out there instead of offering him a place inside. It felt inhumane. They said they don't maintain the agoda channel, which is strange since they should manage all their booking channels. I checked agoda and found no mention that it was a syariah hotel. Only after I told them the information was missing did they add a photo in the room section about the syariah policy. That clearly shows it wasn't there before.
