The rooftop was a real gem: clean, relaxed, and great for backpackers. For such an affordable price, the cleanliness stood out everywhere. The facilities worked well too: air-conditioned room, WiFi, towel, personal locker, water refill station, fridge, kitchen, and shared bathroom with tissue and soap. They also rent motorbikes and sell food and drinks if you get hungry. I arrived around midnight, outside normal working hours, but still got detailed check-in instructions. The directions were clear, and they answered all my messages politely. The place is about 2 km from Banyuwangi Kota Station, easy to find and well connected. The hospitality was the biggest highlight. Staff were polite, informative, and always ready to help. The receptionist was especially kind, and their messages were full of little “thank yous” and “sorrys” that made a difference. They treat guests like people in their own home, and it shows in how well they maintain the place. I know everyone has their own opinion, but I’m sorry to see so many bad reviews when my experience was so positive. I’d definitely come back if I get the chance. The staff were incredibly humble and friendly, and the room rate was very affordable. Everything was neat, well arranged, and clearly maintained. Even with the bathrooms and toilets in separate areas, they were really clean. The whole place feels cozy.

At 10 pm, after arriving, I was told the female dormitory wasn’t available and was asked to take a private room. They had messaged me on WhatsApp to confirm my arrival time, so they already knew I was a woman, but they still didn’t tell me the dorm was unavailable before I got there. I had nowhere else to go that late, so I ended up paying a lot for just three hours. They also refused to deduct what I’d already paid for the dorm from the private room charge, even though they would still receive the dorm payment through the website. They said the listing was wrong, blamed the website, and asked me to cancel and get a refund, although the site clearly said that wasn’t possible. They don’t seem to manage their own listing. It felt like a setup to get more money. Don’t book this hotel or go there. I added a photo to make the situation clear. The washrooms weren’t clean, there were mosquitoes everywhere, and the doors were broken.
