HARRIS Resort Batam Waterfront

The location is quite far from the city, and the air conditioning was a real problem. Even set to 16° at night, it still felt like 27°, so the kids were sweating and we moved their mattress from the bunk bed onto the floor. We didn’t need blankets. We came as three families in five rooms, and the front desk explained we could get 15% off F&B and water sports. Our Family Room was incredibly spacious, with a double decker bed for the kids, and we also asked for connecting rooms. The pools are huge. The slide is a little old, but do rent the hamster wheel, the kids had so much fun with it. We could see planes overhead from the pool, and the view at sunset after the call to prayer was lovely. Breakfast had plenty of choices, there was a staff dance performance at 9.20am, and we had fresh coconut water at least twice a day.

Arum and the other breakfast staff were friendly and attentive, and there was a great spread with choices for both seniors and kids. Our receptionist was welcoming and knowledgeable, which made check-in easy. We booked five rooms for a family trip and asked to have them all on one level. The hotel arranged that, which we appreciated, and the spacious layout worked well for a big family with children. The room upkeep could be better: our curtains had visible dirt, the balcony wasn’t very clean, and the toilet paper hadn’t been restocked. We had a good stay and would recommend it to large families, though the rooms need more attention.

We booked the kids room for our child’s birthday, and they loved the bunk bed and the child-friendly amenities. It’s a good choice for a family trip. The pool is huge, and the foam parties at 9 am and 4 pm made the kids really happy. Breakfast at the harris cafe had a complete selection, and all the staff were kind and friendly. We loved staying here and would recommend it for families.

The room was roomy and generally clean, with a nice sea view, a comfortable bed, and good shower pressure. It did look a little dated, though, and there were noticeable stains on the furniture. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and the ground staff were warm and provided excellent service. A nice, relaxing holiday.
