I came back for a second visit and stayed four days and three nights with my kids, who are 10 and 13. We were so happy to see sea turtles swimming around every afternoon from about 4 PM until sunset. Morning snorkeling brought us small fish and crabs too. We felt really blessed. Our room was roomy and clean. The AC and water heater worked perfectly, and we got two bottles of mineral water, two instant coffee sachets, fresh towels, and a new doormat each day. There was also a TV, electric kettle, cup, and glass. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Getting in from the main road took a fairly long, bumpy entrance, but it was worth it for us. They rent snorkels, and I wish there were more things to use, like paddle boards or bicycles. One other suggestion: my sister and I got bites on the third day, so bed bug spray would be useful. A hanger, or jemuran, outside the room would also help us dry swimsuits, snorkels, and towels. Hopefully we'll be back next year 😄

The room was clean and the hotel sits right across from the beach, which is a perfect spot. The price was cheap too. You can rent a bike for IDR 35.000 for 8 hours. Breakfast was simple, with fried rice, noodles, bread, and some fruit. If you're driving and following Google Maps, don't follow it all the way once you reach a roundabout. The map hasn't caught up with the new access road. It's a new rock and soil road, still under construction, but you can drive on it.

A quiet escape from busy life, with a private beach and a really nice room. There's a seafood restaurant, and they can help arrange an island-hopping trip by local boat. It's a fairly new hotel with plenty of potential.

The breakfast was only so-so, and it's best to go early if you want a decent meal before things run out. For lunch or dinner, walk along the beach to find lovely restaurants with music, karaoke, and delicious food. It's cheap and tastes great. The staff can help with bike or car rentals, often at lower prices than outside; for boats and island hopping, you'll need to look around and bargain for a rate. The hotel is more than 50 km from the local airport, but the roads make it easy to reach. Its location is apt, with a private beach that runs along the island, where each property owns a piece of land. Rooms are spacious and have AC and TV. The ground-floor rooms by the beachfront are excellent for couples and families. The manager and staff are warm and happy to help. English is used only a little. It helps to know Basa, since 98% of locals use it to communicate. Kelayang Beach Hotel is one of the best places to stay in Belitung, and I would certainly vouch for it.

It's a new hotel with clean rooms, tidy mattresses, and clean water, with both hot and cold available. Each room has a bolster, which is a plus. The downsides are that there's no tea or coffee in the room, just three bottles of mineral water, and no slippers for guests. Although the hotel is on the beach, the available rooms don't face the beach directly.
