The villas are huge, with private pools large enough for a proper swim, and high-end amenities that made everything comfortable. The traditional Balinese architecture has a modern touch, and the manicured gardens and grounds are beautifully maintained, creating a peaceful, private feel. At Maja Restaurant, the food was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The team there were as attentive and helpful as elsewhere in the resort. The beach club is a great perk. You can take a quick shuttle or walk about 10 minutes along the scenic coastal path to the beach. From arrival, the warm welcome and professional, thoughtful service made me feel like a returning member of the family, rather than just a guest. That home-away-from-home feeling is rare. Amarterra combines beautiful design, immaculate grounds, and a team that delivers Balinese hospitality. It’s a peaceful, sophisticated retreat, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We chose half board again, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. The beef rendang deserves a special mention, absolutely delicious 😋. This was our sixth stay, and we always love coming back. The welcome is warm, attentive, and very professional. The villas are still charming and so comfortable, with a private patio and small pool that make for a relaxing, intimate space. The main drawback is swimming at the beach. At low tide there’s a big muddy area, and at high tide the currents bring in a lot of debris, so the beach club doesn’t really serve its main purpose, even though it has toilets and food service. It’s also moved to the other side of the bay, more than a 20-minute walk away. There is a shuttle, but it doesn’t run often enough. Even so, Amarterra is without a doubt one of the best hotels in Nusa Dua, if not the best.

The villa gave us the privacy we wanted, and the room was comfortable and well equipped. The amenities smelled lovely and were good quality. The gym was excellent, and every meal at the restaurant was wonderful. We arrived the night before Nyepi, and the special meal was authentic and tasty. The resort never seemed busy, and the location was good for relaxing and doing a little shopping. We also enjoyed the private beach club. The staff were incredible, every person we met was friendly and helpful, from the airport pickup to the young man who drove us to our next stay in Ubud. Ana in the restaurant, our yoga instructor, and the lovely women in the spa were all wonderful too. A couple of things to know: the bed is on the hard side, and we left stiff and sore. On the Vanda side, staff leaving around midnight can be noisy. There’s a great in-room speaker, so be ready to use it for white noise. Wonderful people, gorgeous grounds, and a beautiful stay.

The early check-in was kindly arranged, and when I arrived there was a beautiful traditional blessing ceremony that felt meaningful and grounding. Then they surprised me with an upgrade to a stunning two-bedroom villa. It was spacious and elegant, with thoughtful details, comfortable bedrooms, an open-air living area, and a private pool. Snacks, refreshing drinks, and a handwritten note made the welcome feel personal. I caught happy hour at the bar. The atmosphere was relaxed and refined, and the bartender took great care of me, even bringing my drink to the room. When I couldn’t connect my USB to the TV, the team responded right away. IT came quickly, and Adriana arranged a portable router so everything worked. I asked about mosquitoes because the living room is open air, and within minutes someone brought a portable trap, lit a coil, and gave me bug spray. They anticipated things before they became problems. Room service arrived promptly, looked lovely, and tasted delicious. They also extended checkout so I could enjoy the villa longer, and leaving was seamless. The property is stunning, peaceful, and impeccably maintained, but it’s the staff who made me feel truly welcome and cared for. This was a reset and a real reminder of good hospitality. I’d give it 10 stars and can’t wait to return. I’ll recommend it to everyone. I’m still thinking about this unforgettable stay at Amarterra Villas Resort Bali Nusa Dua, Autograph Collection.
