Hotel Royal Bogor

Being directly across from bogor arboretum is a plus, but the rest of the hotel was pretty disappointing. The bedroom itself was just so-so. My bathroom was dirty and didn't seem up to the standard of a three-star hotel in the city. The towels were in very poor shape too, dirty and coming apart at the seams. Breakfast cost IDR 150,000 per adult and tasted awful. The hot dishes weren't even warm, the food wasn't cooked properly, and the tableware was stained and not properly cleaned. I wouldn't recommend this as a three-star hotel for a foreigner visiting Bogor city.

The staff and security were helpful, and we enjoyed our stay. It's centrally located in Bogor, which made the price feel affordable for the location and cleanliness. The room is quite old, but it was clean enough for us. I nearly forgot to mention the nice breakfast. I'd rate it four stars.

The pool has a good view, and lots of families were using it, which made it feel friendly. Some edges were slippery and had a few sharp spots that seemed a little unsafe, though we didn't get hurt and neither did anyone else. Our room was cool when we arrived and everything worked. A few areas could've been cleaner, but our stay was really pleasant. The lobby has grand decor and six sofas, with a helpful front desk, and the lifts were quick and well maintained. There was a wedding during our stay, which may have helped bring the place to life. The location is great for walking to the botanical gardens. Five stars for a 3* hotel.

The basement parking has plenty of space for cars and motorcycles, and the price is reasonable compared with other hotels nearby. The location is the best part: McDonald's is close if you're hungry, and so are a mall, the Botanical Gardens, and Jalan Surya Kencana. Royal Hotel Bogor is clean and well maintained, with friendly staff and quick, efficient check-in and checkout. If you need a hairdryer, just call and ask for one. I'd highly recommend staying here.
