Ijen View Hotel & Resort

The stay started well after we arrived at 4pm with the Ijen Tour. Check-in was quick and easy, the staff were polite and efficient, and there was plenty of parking. Our room was spacious and comfortable with cool AC, and the pool was awesome. My wife ordered a fresh, delicious chicken sandwich from the restaurant. Things went downhill at the makeshift spa. It was cramped and hot, with closets separated by curtains instead of proper little rooms, and both beds had just one access point. They were already 20 minutes late. I got a half-ass massage from a therapist who was also handling the cashier and reception, so she kept leaving to deal with loud customers. It wasn’t her fault she’d been put in that position, and she apologized afterward. I was just done with the whole experience. At one point I started shushing people waiting outside because they had no idea how loudly they were talking. Between the noise and the massage quality, it was the worst I’ve had in Java.

I had a really bad stay here, the worst hotel experience I’ve had in a long time. In room 401, the sink was clogged and disgusting, and there was no toilet paper. At least the heated shower worked, thank god. The AC was far too warm and noisy, and it dripped onto the floor. I spent the whole night in a hot room with the fan blasting white noise and water dripping the whole time. The two staff members I spoke to, one at reception and one at the restaurant, were very unfriendly. They both spoke to me like I was begging for money, which made the experience unpleasant. I hope this feedback helps the managers improve things for future visitors.

The room itself was good, and there was a basic breakfast buffet. But my girlfriend found a nail in her drink, which completely put us off eating. The AC was very loud too.

The pool was huge, and the whole place looked quite new. My room was clean and spacious too. I only stayed a short while and wished I could've stayed longer, it looked fantastic.
