Omah Kulon Cabins and Pool

I wasn't sure whether to call this a hotel or a homestay, but it's one of the best places I've stayed. It's in a rural area and easy to find with a map. Parking only fits about four cars, which I think helps keep the traditional Javanese village feel. You feel the warmth of Javanese people and their heritage right from the first step. The building, the people's kindness, their gestures, all of it. The lobby is small but sufficient, since most guests seem to use the place mainly for sleeping while visiting Borobudur. My upstairs room had traditional Javanese decor with a modern touch. The bed was clean and comfortable. The nights here are cool enough that I didn't need AC. The bathroom was huge, with hot and cold showers, and everything was properly clean. The pool was clean and big enough for a good swim. I'll stay here again when I visit Magelang. Top notch!
