Royal Denai Hotel

The shower needs fixing, since the water was either too cold or way too hot. There isn't a lift, so good luck carrying your luggage. The room was spacious and clean, the staff were friendly, and the pool is pretty big. It's also near the iconic jam gadang and a cafe.

The rooms seem to be designed mostly for families, which makes the rates high. Still, it's a nice place to stay, even though the room feels dated. I think it used to be a 5 star hotel. My room was spacious, with carpet over the tiles, standard amenities, fast Wi-Fi, very comfortable bedding, two sets of chairs, and a small nice table. The pool is big and pretty, and breakfast is standard. You're close to the iconic Jam Gadang and lots of food courts and beer gardens.

The rooms are a good size in this old hotel. The air conditioner wasn't really cold, and breakfast was okay. There's no iron or in-house laundry, so even a single small item has to go out to a laundry through the hotel service if you need it ironed.

It's close to jam gadang and the traditional market, with food places around and a hospital right in front. There's a swimming pool, and breakfast has enough choices. Prices go up in peak season. A good, comfortable place to stay.
