Di Abian Villas

Kadek and Yuli were such welcoming, accommodating hosts at Di Abian Villa. Staying in Kadek and Yuli’s family compound made it a unique Bali experience, while they still respected our privacy. The place was clean and better maintained than anywhere else we’ve stayed on this trip. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed, and we really enjoyed the pool and Bale. Yuli also rented me a great scooter. Lipah Beach, with great snorkeling, was just 100 metres away, and there were good cafes and warungs nearby, plus a nice massage spa. Really good value, too. Highly recommend.

The family who owns this place is laid-back. They leave you to yourself, though they might invite you to share some food and a beer. There's just one villa, so no other guests, and it's a quiet, huge, beautiful property with Balinese temples and architecture. The villa is small but clean, with a kitchen and a large bathroom. The pool is small, too, but clean and comfortable. If you're here to snorkel, many of the best spots are only minutes away, including the Japanese wreck. The price you see online might be negotiable if you stop by in person.

We stayed at Di Abian Villa for two weeks, and it shouldn't be confused with the nearby Di Abian Resort. Kadek and Yuli were so friendly throughout our stay. Kadek takes real pride in keeping the garden peaceful and beautiful, while Yuli gave us accurate advice about good Warungs and convenient local shops. The bed was very comfortable, the drinking water dispenser was topped up when needed, and the clean infinity pool with jacuzzi-style jets was great for relaxing at lunch or in the afternoon. Breakfast was eggs on toast with fruit, plus tea, coffee, or chocolate, a nice way to start the day. Everyone on staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Lipah Beach is just across the road, with a great variety of vibrant corals, fish, and turtles for snorkeling. I don't understand or agree with the few earlier criticisms of this villa. It may be one of the nicest and best-value places in the Amed area. Don't hesitate to book it as a sensible alternative to the madness of the better-known Denpasser or Ubud areas.

The owners and staff were polite and friendly, and we had a pleasant stay. It's a charming little villa built on the hosts' own property. The pool was clean and refreshing.
