OYO 90458 Pucuk Bali Guest House

The room was spacious, reasonably clean and had working air conditioning. Check-in was easy, and the staff seemed polite and helpful. It's a bit remote, so there's some walking to reach the guest house unless you have a bike. But during my one-night stay, the power in my room went out for about six hours. I lost internet, air conditioning and access to the plug sockets. The rest of the area and some other rooms still had power, which made it especially surprising. It was in the middle of the night, with no one available to talk to, and I had to reschedule important work calls. I can't recommend this place.

The location is a real plus: restaurants, shops, beaches and coworking spaces are within a 15-minute walk or a five-minute scooter ride. There's AC, free Wi-Fi, filtered water, a small kitchenette and inexpensive scooters for rent, and the people running the guest house were lovely. The room was spacious and mostly clean, but there was a layer of dust, a broken mirror and an old toothpaste tube on top of the wardrobe. The bath mats had several gross spots, and the sink had thick lime deposits. None of that was a disaster, and the value for money is okay, but cleanliness should be a basic part of any professional accommodation.

Pucuk Bali Gym has a nice garden view and, when I visited, the equipment was new, clean and tidy. Membership is cheap, with daily and monthly options, which is good for an outdoor gym around Canggu. There's no AC or fan, so bring your own towel.

The family at Pucuk Guest House were so lovely and helpful, and I had a great stay. My room was clean and spacious, and the location was great too. I'd happily recommend it. I'm coming back next week to stay again.
