The Paving Villa Canggu

We were here for a month and a half in April-May 2021, during Covid, and loved it. It was affordable, and the pool and staff were a plus, so we kept extending our stay. Our room was pretty small, but we spent so much time in the kitchen, by the pool and on the rooftop that it didn’t bother us much. Thanks, paving villa. Looking forward to coming back!

The location was excellent and the facilities and people were nice, but the internet was a real problem for me. The wifi barely worked, so without a sim card you couldn’t even order a gojek. On my first day, after checking in and putting my things in the room, I checked the lock twice before leaving. While I was out, staff entered to leave water and left the room unlocked. I told them, and it didn’t happen again, but it was unsettling when traveling alone. I needed internet, so this was the first place where I really had an issue.

It was nice and clean, good value for money, with a good bed and great shower pressure. We eventually got a room and friendly service, but the booking mix-up was strange and came across as a bit unfriendly. Trouble communicating with one staff member first made us think that despite our reservation, there was no room for us. No one apologized. We didn’t try breakfast because we didn’t know it stops being served at 10.

The staff were not helpful or accommodating. My boyfriend waited hours for his room to be cleaned, and when we checked it, it still wasn’t ready for check-in. Everything in the room was dirty.
