I gave the place 9.5 out of 10 after spending 29 days there. I had to work most days, which wasn't ideal for me, but it did give me plenty of time to get to know the place. Short version, I highly recommend it. What stood out most was the staff. They were among the friendliest I've met in Bali, and I've spent about six months in different places around the island over the past two years. The property was clean and well looked after. There were a few small things needing repair, but they didn't bother me. Even the construction next door was manageable: it didn't start too early or go on too late, so I slept well. I stayed in room S1. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and there were USB and regular plugs on both sides, with lamps on the nightstands. There was also a large wardrobe with hangers and drawers, a desk with a socket right beneath it, good Wi-Fi, and a mini-fridge for keeping a six-pack cold. The AC was strong and had heating, cooling, fan, and dehumidifier modes. Magnetic mosquito screens on the windows meant I could open them without worrying about bugs. Thick curtains made the room really dark, which I loved because I need to sleep in a cave, as dark as my morning coffee or my mood, depending on the day ;p. The private bathroom had good water pressure and instant hot and cold water. Outside there's a lovely shared area with a kitchen, pool, and roof terrace with a great view. Even though it's in the tourist part of Pererenan, nights were still quiet. Shops and services are close by, including supermarkets, restaurants, hairdressers, spas, coffee shops, laundromats, pharmacies, and even a 24-hour emergency doctor just around the corner. Hopefully you won't need that. The beach is walkable too, and there's lots more to explore if you wander into the side alleys.

We first heard about this place from friends who stayed six months. My boyfriend and I spent two months here last year, then came back for another month. The manager and staff are lovely, and the place is near Pererenan beach, where we like to take walks in the morning and evening. Our loft was quiet and comfortable, with a shared kitchen and pool. Lots of cafes, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance.

Ohana became my home when I first moved to Bali, and I spent a wonderful few months there. The room was great, the bed comfortable, and the rooftop and pool were beautiful. The staff were wonderful too. Pererenan is such a good area, just beyond busy central Canggu but still with a Bali feel. Ohana is close to the beach and to cute restaurants, cafes, and bars. Thanks for a great stay!

The rooftop bar was a real highlight for me, with panoramic views and a relaxed setting for a drink. I also liked being near the beach without staying in the busier part of Canggu. It made for a quieter visit. Still, Ohana Retreat needs attention, especially the rooms and basic amenities. The rooms felt neglected and needed substantial repairs and renovation. The furnishings seemed outdated, some amenities were worn, and the accommodation didn't offer the comfort or functionality I expected. Wi-Fi, hot water, and air conditioning also weren't reliable throughout my stay. Those basics need to work consistently, and the management should make them a priority. Ohana Retreat has potential as a peaceful retreat, and the rooftop and beach proximity are appealing. But the condition of the rooms and the inconsistent facilities took away from the experience. Updating and maintaining the property would make a big difference. Thank you for hosting me, and I hope this feedback helps improve things.
