The Sloth Bali

The pastry was good and the coffee was okay, but the tofu in my wrap smelled a little off. I wondered if that was just how tofu is, though I got really sick that evening. I can't say for sure it was connected. The place looked clean and hygienic, but the areas seemed closed off and didn't have the usual Balinese friendliness. I only ate there, so I can't comment on the rooms.

I don't usually leave reviews, but this was unpleasant enough that I felt I should. I live in the apartments at this hotel and came down hoping to have a croissant and orange juice. The juice came in a plastic cup, only half full, and tasted as if a little fresh juice had been watered down. The croissant was greasy, salty, and burnt. The butter they served with it seemed dried out and had a meaty or otherwise salty smell. Just awful.

We liked it enough to keep extending our stay. The rooms and pool were clean, and the kitchen had a good double hob and a large fridge. The staff were helpful with arranging scooter rental and cleaning when we needed it. Would recommend!

I still haven't made it to the Sloth, but wow, the home delivery was amazing. The food tasted great, the prices were good, and Gojek brought it over really quickly. Hard to beat!
