Villa Allure

I was worried after reading the previous review, but there was no need. The staff were waiting when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. The villa was clean and spacious, with a cool outdoor shower in the master en-suite. The air conditioning worked fine, and the bed was so comfortable I slept perfectly. The private pool, surrounded by fragrant frangipanis, was lovely for a swim. Allure Villas Canggu is right in the heart of Canggu, with great restaurants and bars within walking distance. I’d highly recommend it if you want a reasonably priced, private villa in a convenient spot with everything you need.

The owner really came through for us after we’d stayed next door in an old, run-down villa. They were incredibly hospitable and accommodating, and clearly have good connections around the area and Canggu. This villa was renovated late last year, so the quality is good for a very fair price. The couches are clean, modern leather, and the bedroom, pool, and bathroom are all clean and up to a good standard. The air con works properly. There’s a mini bar, too.

The location is decent, but the villa is completely run down. The photos look like they’re from when it was built, because it doesn’t look that way now. The owners need to put some money into it. ☹️

The place didn’t match its description. The air con wasn’t working in either the master bedroom or living room, and the tiny third room had no window and smelled of mold. The kitchen was stained, and its old cookware was dirty. We had to find somewhere else to stay. The owner wouldn’t acknowledge the problems or refund us, and we’re still waiting for our money back. Avoid this place unless you want to be stuck in a smelly, hot terrarium.
