The Ocean Sunset Villa Ceningan

The air conditioning, pancake breakfast, crispy French fries, scooter rental with helmets, sunset view, and lovely garden plants were all good. Staff were friendly, though passive. The room was small, with no nightstand, reading light, or closet space, and there were no towel hooks in the bathroom. There was no daily bathroom cleaning, and toilet paper wasn’t replaced when it ran out. The mosquito net had stains and holes, the toilet seat was loose, and the bathroom was dated, smelled bad, and had toothpaste stains everywhere. The shower head and door knobs were corroded. Salt water came from the pool, shower, and tab. The shower head also leaked constantly, wasting water and keeping the bathroom from drying. Construction started at 7.30 AM. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It needs serious renovation.

You can enjoy the sea view and sunset here, and the food is tasty, apart from the complimentary breakfast. The food and drinks aren’t expensive, and this place is near a great surf spot that’s easy to walk to after dinner. I also drank lots of bottles of leamon bintang beer.

We enjoyed our stay and the island was lovely and relaxing. The staff were friendly and the food was simple. A few things made the visit less comfortable, though: the beds felt hard as rocks, and we found the sun loungers more comfortable than the beds in our room. The bathroom could use some renovation, and more lighting outside would make it feel safer. Hopefully our next visit will be better.

I meant to stay two nights in December, but ended up adding another day because I loved it here. The owners, Steve and Sisil, along with Yohanna, Kodek, and Wayan, made me feel like part of the family and took great care of me. The sunset views can be lovely, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are adorable. It’s set away from Ceningan Island’s busier streets, but an easy scooter ride gets you around. Blue Lagoon, Secret Point Beach, and Mahana Point are nearby, where you can jump into the water from around 10 meters up. Thanks for such a wonderful stay, Steve and Sisil. I’m looking forward to coming back.
