Tea Garden Resort

There’s plenty for children to do, including ceramic and batik activities, and you can arrange a tea walk or curug trekking. I liked having a hammock at each cottage and taking a tea walk in the morning. It’s a great place to get some me time.

The cabin is good and looks fairly modern, with a rooftop smoking area and a swinging bench on the front porch. Down by the rice paddies, the resort also has a jacuzzi to visit. The service doesn’t seem to have improved since three years ago, though. Food always takes too long to arrive, and the signal is poor on some TV channels.

The room had a bathtub and fireplace, plus a spacious rooftop, an outdoor hammock, a jacuzzi, and a pool. But there was no AC, and it felt so hot that we had to open nearly all the doors. During our two-day stay, we also found cockroaches, beetles, and millipedes. I suppose that comes with a resort in a nature area, but they should provide insect spray or something. The food was just okay, with nothing that impressed me. We paid around IDR 1 million for room service, lunch, and dinner over three days, including a batik class and tea garden walk. The guide couldn’t explain things well, and didn’t know the answers when I asked questions. They weren’t a real expert on it. The location is isolated, and the road was incredibly bumpy and in poor condition when I came by online taxi. Finding a taxi back to Bandung was hard too. Luckily, I met someone who knew a driver who could take us from Subang to Lembang for 350k. The family activities were supposed to make the trip fun, but the whole experience was disappointing and not worth the price. I’d rather go to Jakarta next time.

I loved spending time in the garden, and the weather was great. The hotel was amazing for relaxing, with a good location and very helpful staff. It could offer more vegetarian choices, though. The road on the way to TGR is terrible, the cottage and bathroom smell bad, and the swimming pool was covered in leaves. I recommend it for yoga lovers.
