Villa Santa Monica by BaliSuperHost

We had a cosy weekend in Kala and Santa Monica, and both villas felt spacious and luxurious. The service was top-notch, too. Young Gen Z guests would love staying here.

We came with 11 friends in January 2024, and the villa was huge and gorgeous. Getting there takes a while since it’s away from the usual routes, along a winding, unpaved road that they’re paving now. The location felt safe, with security, and the staff were friendly. There are plenty of extras you can arrange, like scooters, massages, breakfast, BBQ dinner, or rafting.

For our family, the distance from the busy areas was a plus. The kids stayed entertained on the slide, and Go Jek can bring you pretty much any food, so there’s not much need to leave. It’s a lovely place to unwind and recharge, though being farther from the bustle does have its pros and cons.

We found it easier to have a driver or butler pick up food, since ordering through GoJek can be difficult. The service itself was amazing, and the villa has a kitchen and a big dining table where we could cook or order meals. There are six rooms: two in the upper building by the main entrance, and four around the stairs. The place was okay overall, and the pool isn’t very large, but its slide is great for children.
