The courtyard is quiet and gated, about 100 meters back from the main road. The place is run by one family, with Robi, the only English-speaking person, in charge. That setting was one of the few positives for me. The booking and payment setup was a mess. Although the place is advertised on online booking sites, I was told they don't work with those services and only take cash. The amount ended up at about 250% of the online price: 60 Rp through the booking, then another 95-100 Rp paid directly. When I objected, they said there were no rooms and that any online booking complaint or refund was Booking's problem. My room wasn't cleaned and the sheets weren't changed unless I asked, despite paying by the day. The air conditioning barely worked and the sink tap kept dripping. Robi's response to requests was often along the lines of, "You can buy it," meaning an extra charge. He argued over all sorts of things, including saying I couldn't have friends visit my private double room, citing their rules and personal discomfort, and even threatening fines. I gave up and checked out 40 minutes after checking in. Robi charged me 65% of the daily rate, 60 Rp. There was no point arguing with him, money seemed to be his favorite subject. I felt watched and couldn't expect a normal stay. I wouldn't have been surprised to be charged extra for electricity if I left the lights on overnight. I wouldn't recommend this place. Maybe it suits someone traveling alone, just sleeping there and leaving in the morning, but avoiding contact with the family who run the "hotel" seemed practically impossible. Online booking doesn't work, they only take bookings after the fact. This is what happened to me.

The booking price looked cheap, but when I arrived it suddenly cost more. The place was shabby and didn't look like the photos, and the TV was bad and didn't work properly. The grandmothers serving guests were really mean and unfriendly. I regret that this was part of my Bali trip. Such a strange place.

The extra charge at check-in was the worst part, since the price didn't match what the app showed. The staff were very unfriendly, including the owner's nephew, who said his uncle owned the place.
