The pool was what drew me in online, and it’s even nicer in person. It’s clean, inviting and surrounded by trees, with pleasant shade through the day for a long swim or a rest by the water. I spent plenty of time there and in my room, and even cooked my own meals using the shared kitchen and its full set of kitchenware. There’s free refill drinking water too, along with a fridge, smart TV and private terrace in the room. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully arranged. The outside has a strong Balinese character, while inside feels modern, fresh and well kept. Everything seemed new. The place is tucked away in Sanur, around 150 meters from the main road, so it’s quiet and calm. The beach is close, and there’s a minimarket within walking distance just outside the alley. At night, especially after rain, you can hear frogs and insects. I didn’t mind; it added to the atmosphere. There are mosquitoes, but each room has an electric repellent. For the price, I found it comfortable, charming and quietly special, and I’ll come back.
There’s no breakfast, but the shared kitchen has everything you need. A good cafe, laundry and small shop are all within walking distance, too. The staff were friendly, the room was nice, and the area was quiet. We had a special request near the end of our stay, and the staff were happy to help. We even extended for another week. I’d recommend it to travelers after a relaxed, unhurried vacation.
I was staying here to take part as an official pacer in the Sanur Half Marathon. I needed to sleep around 19:00, get up at 01:00, and report for pacing duty at 03:00. Around 19:30, the air conditioning stopped working completely. Reception said there was a technical problem and a technician might take 1-2 hours, but they couldn’t be sure. No other room was available, so they offered a fan and said the AC would be fixed in the morning. I explained that I’d be away from 03:00 until about 08:00 and asked for the repair to be done before I returned, since I planned to rest again before checkout. When I got back at 08:00, nothing had been fixed. Technicians arrived at 09:30, and I had to leave the room while they worked. After pacing duty, I couldn’t rest at all. An alternative room was offered at 11:00, about an hour before checkout, too late to be useful. I asked for compensation for the disruption, but the hotel refused, saying I hadn’t waited for the technician the night before. That doesn’t make sense when I’d clearly explained my early start and race duties. I also couldn’t speak with the manager because I was told they were off duty. They didn’t provide a working essential facility, find a timely alternative, repair the AC within a reasonable time, or take responsibility for the inconvenience. The hotel is very new and in a good location. Think twice about booking in case something goes wrong.
The manager was friendly and very accommodating, but I wouldn’t visit again. During my 3 nights there, nobody came to clean, change the sheets, bring fresh towels or toilet paper and tissues, or take out the rubbish. The bathroom was also poorly maintained: shower water drained so slowly it pooled in the bathtub, where I found other people’s hair and dead insects. The shower head was fixed too low to adjust. At 5 ft 8 (172cm), I couldn’t shower properly or wash my hair. Someone petite, around 160cm, might manage, but at my height or taller it just doesn’t work. The design felt unfriendly to anyone who isn’t petite. The shower only gave me hot water for about 2 minutes before turning cold. It rained heavily every day, and one day I was soaked on my bike with no hot shower afterward. The AC was either too cold or too warm, with no way to set a comfortable temperature, and the blanket wasn’t thick enough for the strong air conditioning. The pillow also didn’t support my neck. Mosquitoes got into the room and left me with lots of bites. There was also an older, unattractive white male guest at cove who kept staring at me, starting conversations and talking even after I showed no interest. He disturbed my space and peace. White swan didn’t respect other female guests or know how to behave appropriately.
There’s parking, the rooms are clean, and the kitchen is well equipped. The swimming pool is a treat, with deck chairs under huge umbrellas. They also have some spa.
