The main downside was the noise from construction behind the rear rooms. There was loud drilling from 10-5pm. I was out all day, so it didn't bother me, but it's good to know in advance. Otherwise, it's a clean, nice, new place in a very safe area. The pool was lovely, the restaurant was clean and nice, and breakfast was amazing. The staff were very friendly. There is a nice gym and spa, and I had a Bali massage there. Several restaurants are within walking distance, though there isn't a convenience store nearby. I'd come back. I'm a solo traveler from San Diego, California.

We stayed at Grand Palace Hotel during a family holiday in Bali, using Sanur as our base. It was easy to get around from here, with the beach nearby and plenty of food stalls around. Having a Padang restaurant right beside the hotel was especially convenient. The hotel looked just like the photos. Our room was clean and spacious, the pool suited both adults and children, and breakfast had lots of choices. The staff were friendly and quick to respond, and they complimented us several times during breakfast, which was a lovely touch. We'd consider staying here again. One small bathroom issue: some towels were torn and worn. I was given one like that on the first day, but by the next day all the towels looked new.

The food was excellent, the service was just as good, and the value was incredible. It's about 1 km from the beach, but a Bluebird taxi cost A$3. Even though it's on Sanur's main thoroughfare, the hotel was very quiet. The name fits, it feels palatial.

A solid mid-range hotel on the bypass, right next door to a fantastic Indonesian restaurant. The menu and facilities were first rate. Getting to the beach and night markets takes a bit of a hike, though staff do provide umbrellas when it rains.

The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful, and my room was spotless and comfortable. It's centrally located, which made getting around easy. A great choice for a short city break.
