HARRIS Hotel & Conventions Denpasar Bali

There are two buildings, and our booking was in the newer one, with its new interior. The newer room felt a bit more compact, kind of like an airport hotel. The central AC might be what makes me prone to a sore throat. On day three I started sneezing and had a runny nose. My immune system probably wasn’t great then either, but even with the temperature set as low as it would go, around 25, my sore throat got worse. I think the hotel should regularly check the central AC for dust or other particles.

I spent a week and a half here on a study trip. The location was good, and I liked having conference rooms. It’s set back from the Main Street, so it’s quiet. The pool was nice, though there were often lots of kids there, as if swimming lessons were going on. The room was basic but had what I needed. Breakfast was convenient, good, and had plenty of choice, but it changed very little over the week, so I mostly ate the same things. My soap was taken and replaced with a new one every day, so I eventually had to hide it. That didn’t seem environmentally friendly. There were no windows I could open for fresh air, and the air con stopped working multiple times. If I could have opened a window, that would have been okay. After the third breakdown, I stopped telling anyone. I wet a towel, put it in the fridge, and laid it on my body so I could sleep in the heat. 😆 Friends in the deluxe rooms said theirs smelled like a sewer.

There’s plenty to eat nearby, with food stalls and a fresh market close by, and the location in Denpasar is convenient. Our room was roomy and clean, and the facilities include a pool and fitness center.

The bed was comfortable, and we had slippers, free water, a bidet, and Netflix. It worked well for an overnight stop before heading to Ubung bus terminal.
